Particular \u00eanfase recai sobre sistemas de equa\u00e7\u00f5es lineares de grande porte e de problemas relacionados. Com efeito, observa-se que o desenvolvimento de tais m\u00e9todos computacionais em \u00e1lgebra linear tem sua base em resultados matem\u00e1ticos rigorosos e, portanto, n\u00e3o s\u00e3o dependentes de uma linguagem de programa\u00e7\u00e3o particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Uma percep\u00e7\u00e3o sobre m\u00e9todos computacionais em \u00e1lgebra linear no contexto de an\u00e1lise de matrizes e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Novos desenvolvimentos em muitas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, tais como previs\u00e3o do tempo, constru\u00e7\u00e3o de avi\u00f5es, t\u00e9cnicas de imagem por tomografia computadorizada, a an\u00e1lise da estabilidade das estruturas em diversos problemas em engenharia, design de chips e outros circuitos el\u00e9tricos, etc, dependem de simula\u00e7\u00f5es num\u00e9ricas de grande porte. Tais simula\u00e7\u00f5es requerem, em sua grande parte, a resolu\u00e7\u00e3o num\u00e9rica de sistemas de equa\u00e7\u00f5es ou de problemas de valores pr\u00f3prios em larga escala. Neste contexto, as matrizes envolvidas s\u00e3o esparsas e de alta dimensional (1 bilh\u00e3o, 1 trilh\u00e3o de equa\u00e7\u00f5es e inc\u00f3gnitas n\u00e3o \u00e9 uma excepcionalidade). Mais do que isso, n\u00e3o \u00e9 incomum que a solu\u00e7\u00e3o destes problemas demanda uma parcela significativa de toda a simula\u00e7\u00e3o computacional. Por conseguinte, o desenvolvimento de novos algoritmos robustos e eficientes de solu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 extremamente importante e forma uma genu\u00edna \u00e1rea de pesquisa e muito ativa e.g.,&nbsp;[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.siam.org\/journals\/simax.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1<\/a>]. Evidentemente, existe uma conex\u00e3o entre an\u00e1lise de matrizes e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es e.g., [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.siam.org\/journals\/simax.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2<\/a>]&nbsp;e an\u00e1lise num\u00e9rica e.g., [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.siam.org\/journals\/sinum.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3<\/a>]. A an\u00e1lise de matrizes e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es tamb\u00e9m combina elementos fundamentais da teoria matem\u00e1tica de amplo de interesse acad\u00eamico e de computa\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es computacionais de amplo impacto em setores produtivos diversos na ind\u00fastria.
